Assignment #6

  1. Your essay describing your New Year's Eve party was unacceptable. You admitted, you wrote it in a hurry, so no wonder, the result was bad. Write it again following the procedure "Writing a composition / an essay" in Procedures. The text you submitted was 87-word long. Make sure, it would have at least 150 words as requested. Place the new version as comment to this assignment. Don't delete the previous version.
  2. Study the diagram "Speech parts" in Pictures. Learn by hard what is the function of each speech part. Be prepared to give some examples of each.
  3. Do all the overdue tasks from Assignment #5.
  4. Don't wait until the last minute to do this homework. Note the time you will have spent.

    Two weeks ago I was in New Year's Eve party. The party organized my friend - Jagoda.
    On Friday I woke up at 11 o'clock.
    I ate breakfast, got dressed and I cleaned my room. Next, I made my nails. My nails were black and white, because I had white overalls with black striped. I was making this 2,5 hours. It's a long time.
    Later I was packing because I will sleep in Jagoda's house.
    Then I packed I got dressed and I went to the station, because I went to Jagoda by train.
    Just I got to the place (Jagoda's home) everything was ready. She had bought balloons, foods, drinks etc.
    The music was playing and everyone was talking. I was also talking.
    Honestly it was boring, because everybody was drinking alcohol. I take medicines so I didn't drink.
    At 11 o'clock two boys had done back home cause they drank a lot before. Just it was at 12 o'clock we were looking at fireworks. It was excellent!
    Next, I and two girls went to sleep.

    I think it wasn't brilliant New Year's Eve but it been good.

    I was in New --> I was AT A New
    The party organized my friend - Jagoda. --> The party WAS organized BY my friend Jagoda.
    with black striped --> with black STRIPES
    It's a long time. --> It WAS a long time.
    I WOULD (or PLANNED TO) sleep in Jagoda's house.
    Then I packed --> AFTER I HAD packed
