- Describe to a hypothetical friend living in UK the customs observed in your family during the Christmas Eve. Assume that your friend is an atheist, but is very interested in religious aspects of such customs. In your description you won't be able to rely on the kind of understanding we take for granted in Poland. You should therefore pay attention to details in a manner you did during our last lesson, when you were reporting on how you spent the Christmas Eve supper at aunt Teresa. Try to tell even more than what you did then, for example about carols and Santa Claus.
- When I was at Julia's in Liverpool for Christmas, I visited an old cemetery nearby. Below is a photo of a gravestone with an interesting inscription. Translate it into Polish.

Christmas is a special time in the year, when I meet with my family around the Christmas table.
ReplyDeleteCompanions meeting a lot of amazing customs.
The first custom is put a hay underneath a tablecloth. It symbolizes a hay on which Jesus lay.
The next custom relies on prepare an extra plate for an unexpected guest. It happens so that person who will knock on the door will find a place around us.
Another custom in my family is singing carols. Through the sing we are happy with Jesus birth.
The popular custom is 12 dishes on the Christmas table. It symbolizes 12 the Apostles, whose were Jesus's pupils. During my Christmas Eve this custom isn't celebrating, because we have much more dishes.
Mentioned above traditions are small part customs, which we celebrate. Should be remembered that each family may have another traditions, or may celebrate this in another way.
