Assignment #2 (email from 28.11.2018)

Dear Emilka,

here is your next assignment:

(1) The written part:

Continue with the subject from your previous assignment. Consider the
following questions:

* What have been some of the learning techniques and tools you have
been applying towards mastering the English? Which ones of those have
been your favourites? By tools I mean books (beyond your study book)
like dictionaries and other written material, phone applications and
Internet portals.

* How many times in a week do you go to the English class?

* What is the typical course of events during an English lesson with
your teacher at school?

*What are some of the home assignments from the teacher? How much time
do you need to finish them?

* You don't have to stick to the above questions. You might come up
with some releated topics on your own.

The deadline for this is next Monday.

(2) Go to the following page in the browser on your laptop:

https://www.cram.com/user/login

Find the part: "Don't have an account? Sign Up"

Click on "Sign Up" and create your own account.

Should you have any problems with this, let me know on WhatsApp and I
will assist you.

Do this part before Saturday.

(3) After you will have done the step #2 sign in to your account on
cram.com and create your first collection of flash cards: use the
words you have selected last week from the list of the most frequently
used English words.

The deadline for this is next Monday.

Try to read and understand the text of this email as soon as possible
(ASAP) and let me know once you're done with this.

Cheers,
stryjek T.

Assignment #1 (email from 21.11.2018)

Dear Emilka!

Before I came to Częstochowa last week, I had mailed you the
description of your first assignment. Because we met unusually last
Sunday you didn't have enough time to work on it and therefore I
didn't blame you for this.

Hence, your home work for the next Tuesday consists of 2 parts:

(1) Describe your experiences in studying English (see my mail from
Nov 13, 2018 for suggested topics).

(2) Starting from position 221 in the list of the most frequently used
English words, go down the list, one-by-one, and write down the
numbers of 30 words you don't know. Mail me these numbers.

Your deadline for this assignment is Monday, Nov 26, 2018, 10 pm.

Confirm receiving this email.

Cheers,
stryjek T.

TBK: Emilka did the first home work on paper. She sent me the following 2 scans:

Initiating email (13.11.2018)

Dear Emilka!

I'm very glad that you have decided to turn to me for help with your
English. I will be trying my best to be your efficient assistant in
this endeavour.

During our phone conversation we have agreed to have one 45-minute
lesson per week. As for now we have chosen Tuesdays, 15:30, as the
beginnings of our encounters.

For each lesson I will give you an assignment. I will be sending you
the specs for the next lesson's assignment every Wednesday morning, so
you would have enough time to work on it. You will be asked to turn in
the written part of such assignments by Monday morning preceding the
lesson.

As you might have learned from your dad by now, I will come to
Częstochowa this Friday to attend my aunt's funeral in Tarnowskie
Góry. I will stay at aunt Dorota's till Monday. Let me know whether
you will be available on Sunday so we could have our first lesson
face-to-face.

Your first written assignment is:

*** Describe your experiences in studying English in as much detail as
you can. ***

In order to help you get started with this, I came up with some
questions you might consider while working on this subject:

* When have you started to learn English?
* How much time have you been devoting to your studies over the years
- at school and beyond?
* How many different teachers did you have so far? Were all of them
good professionals?
* What have been some of the learning techniques and tools you have
been applying towards mastering the language? Which ones of those have
been your favourites?

Please write back to me confirming receiving this mail. Were you able
to understand the above?

Greetings,
stryjek T.

PS: Do you use the WhatsApp application on your phone?
